Neighborhood Garden Tour 2

I can't get enough of other people's gardens at this time of year.
The one or two garden tours I go on just isn't enough.
It just came to me that that is probably why my two blogs have been named what they
are...DownMyGardenPath & ThroughMyGardenGate. Those names aren't completely
accurate, as I spend a lot of time looking through other's gates and walking down
their paths. I'm too darned nosy. I've always got to know what other people are doing...in their gardens! The following photos are of a very unassuming house with a wonderful side yard in the historic area of our city. My husband didn't even question me when I asked him to pull over. It's just easier to go along... I've decided when I go on these escapades, I'll post them on my blog for others of like mind to enjoy. It's a wasted experience for my dear hubby!

Amazing statue of a swinging girl actually coming out of a real tree.

Pergola covered with lush foilage.

Substantial raised beds with a wonderful fountain in the background

A closer look at the raised beds

Wow! I can't imagine the work that went into all of those stone raised beds. They are lovely though and make quite a statement.

I love the swinging girl!! And those raised beds are to die for. I long for raised beds for my veggies.

Enjoyed the garden tour. The 'swinging statue' is certainly unique. I love garden walks also ... always amazing to see a garden through others eyes.

What an adorable garden. Love that girl on the swing. Will she come with me if I ask her nicely, what do you think? ;-)

Garden blogging is right up your street, isn't it? Now you can see what's going on in so many people's gardens up close and peronal. :-D

So you are a garden voyeur? :-) Those raised beds are really nice and I especially like the girl on the swing. It is interesting for me to see gardens of my forum friends thru my camera, too. When I visit one of them, I always carry my camera along. Have a nice week! Andrea

Yes, Chris, if the owners see you taking photographs, introduce yourself as a garden blogger and make friends! The swinging girl is irresistible.

I've been catching up on your posts - love your swallowtail, am also lucky enough to have the tropical milkweed, but lost both my Esperanzas/Tecoma stans last winter. Phooey.

And may your garden shed dreams come true - mine has no electricity or water, but it has a potting bench, a window, built-in storage and enough space to hide all the tools which is good enough for me ;-]
And like Carol, green is my color so it's white with green trim, like the frame part of the house. Watch out Chris, if you make yours too beautiful, people will come in your yard and post photos of your shed on their blogs!

Thanks everyone for stopping by. That statue is what caused me to stop. What you don't see is the little boy behind her pushing her swing from behind.

Yep, Andrea, I am indeed a "garden voyeur"!!

Annie, it's good to see you visit. I dream about my shed, but it will probably be a year or so til it comes to fruition. My electicity will come via an extension cord and water via a hose, I'm sure! Oh! It will be green. That, I know for sure!

I wouldn't be able to resist a garden like that either! Beautiful!

So Chris, what do you do, just pull the car over and walk around the perimeter of their property? I'd hate to raise concern, but I suppose owners of gorgeous gardens should be used to it. From what I understand Denton has some residences with gorgeous gardens, when I go to the Bayless-Selby House, I'll have to find some homes with gardens just for you!

They are irresistable! Hey Rebecca! It's great to see you visiting. Yep, that's exactly what I do. Pull right over or get my hubby to do it (that sometimes requires more work). I usually walk around looking before I take photos. If the garden's owners are around, I complement them and ask if I can take photos; if they're not around, I just take them. People are usually flattered and it's not like I'm making a profit or even listing the address (for safety's sake). I'm getting ready to add another one and it's a doozy! Let me know about those houses in Denton. I'd love to come see them.

Hi Chris - thanks for visiting my blog. That girl on the swing looked kinda freaky at first glance, but its pretty cool. Thanks for the tour.

Hi Gardenmomma!

I'm so glad you posted those photos! I was just over at my new house last night (the one with the tiny bare yard) and was bemoaning the fact that I didn't have any good ideas for raised beds.

I LOVE that pergola, too (and the statue)!

happy gardening!
